Editech 2012: Pages, screens and clouds

di E. Molinari notizia del 25 maggio 2012

Editech is a two-days conference (21st-22nd June, Milan) of updating on technological innovations in the book publishing sector organised by the Associazione Italiana Editori (AIE) - Italian Publishers Association. Over five years, it has become the leading Italian event on themes related to digital publishing. This event is intended to provide operators of the publishing sector with the knowledge and tools necessary to adapt their own corporate strategies to new business models.
Editech is organised mainly for editors, the protagonists of the ongoing changes and opportunities that new scenarios may offer. However, editors are also aware of the complexity and investments that the decisions related to technological innovations will imply in the management of publishing houses. The event is aimed at both people working at defining corporate strategies in the publishing businesses and people who deal more specifically with issues concerning the application of technologies to the publishing production, distribution, and communication processes.
The international conference, June 21st, will feature successful case histories as concrete examples and the focus will be put on the publishers’ role and what’s changing in his work.
The following days, June 22nd, there will be two seminars: one, held by Peter Meyers, on reader-friendly e-books, and another one, held by Sanders Kleinfeld (O’Reilly Media) and Bill McCoy (Idpf) on the potentialities of Html5 and ePub3.
