The AIE

The Italian Publishers Association (AIE - Associazione Italiana Editori) is the trade association for Italian publishers – and foreign publishers active in Italy – of books, magazines, periodicals and digital publishing products. The AIE represents, at the national level, businesses which produce and handle content, regardless of the format through which it is channelled, and it is an attentive, well-informed observer of the cultural and educational scene in Italy and the trends which are taking place.

When the offer isn't enough
Reading amond 6-19 year olds has declined in 2007. Titles and modernisation of layour in bookshops (and also in public libraries) have not been enough to turn around phenomena wich have their roots in structurak factors.

Produce or Export?
In the context of children's reading outlined over the preceding pages, how has the production of children's books changed? how have the market ands sales channels changed?

The publishers' point of view
This is a growing segment wich can be differentiated according to genderm age band, subject matter and commercial solution and wich, by widening the market, carries out an essential role in the promotion of reading.
